Local Actors Will Compete With "Talley's Folly"

Johnny Molson & Mary Young  are fixtures in the local community theater world. They'll be heading to Michigan to perform in a competition hosted by the American Association of Community Theatre. It's Winter - But You Can See The Dixie Swim Club

The Dixie Swim Club is a play about 5 women who met on the swim team in college and have created lasting friendships ever since. Each year, they meet to reconnect and catch up with each other. The play, whose writers include one who has written for The Golden Girls, is a comedy that also tackles the serious issues that come with aging, and the drama that comes with friendship.

'PechaKucha' Highlights Unique Springfield Stories & Characters

Watching one power-point presentation after another probably doesn't sound all that fun to most folks. But a local version of a worldwide happening strives to make it that way. The unique event draws in a host of diverse characters from the community and gives them about seven minutes to tell their story while showing images that correspond with their talk, each presenter has 20 slides with an image only, that last 20 seconds each.

Bedrock 66: Roots Rockers Nikki Hill & Marco Di Maggio - Saturday

Roots rocker Nikki Hill is  a newcomer who has gained attention for her soulful and powerful voice. Her band, who she calls 'The Pirate Crew' includes her husband, Matt Hill - a guitar player and soulful musician in his own right. She headlines on Saturday night. Opening is Marco DiMaggio who has been heralded as one of the world's best Rock 'n' Roll guitarists.
