Winslow Hired As Springfield Police Chief

But his hiring on a permanent basis was delayed last night as council members questioned him in private for more than half an hour. An internet site had raised issues about how Winslow might restructure the department. Mayor Mike Houston says aldermen wanted to hear from Winslow:
“There, apparently, was something on Springfield Leaks yesterday. There were emails going back and forth between some of the council, not everyone received the emails, but as it turned out the questions were answered. There were no concerns or problems,” Houston said.
Aldermen also approved hiring Robert Braasch was hired as manager of administrative services at City, Water, Light and Power. He's been on the job for several months as well. Councilwoman Gail Simpson was among two who voted against the appointment. She says CWLP is too top heavy with management positions.
